Yet another Case with Gadolinium

September 19th, 2007 · No Comments

Gadolinium attorneys are beginning to see more and more gadolinium lawsuits being filed.  Yet another case in Nashville, Tenn. has been reported:   A lawsuit has been filed against Tyco Internationl, Ltd. because of some serious injuries that were caused by the injection of a dye used in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

It was in 2004 that Jerry Hensley, who has a history of kidney problems, underwent an MRI.  Only about a week later, he began to experience symptoms associated with Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF).  The skin around both his knees and both his elbows became thicker resulting in leg, knee and elbow pain.  He even has problems walking.

Hensley’s attorney seeks to prove that Tyco was well aware of the health risks associated with gadolinium-based agents used in MRI’s, especially for patients with kidney problems.  Hensley’s attorney believes that his client should have been warned about these risks.  Because Tyco did not inform doctors of the risks of this gadolinium-based dye, the doctor was unable to warn Hensley.  NSF is a very serious medical condition that has the potential to be fatal.
